History

Established in 1986.

It was always my parents dream to have their own business.  One day, after a lot of saving up, they were able to make that dream come true.  In 1986, Van Dyke Resale Shop was born.  Sue (Mom) and Ray (Pops) began by selling used furniture.  They traveled all across Michigan buying furniture to bring the best deals to Metro-Detroit.  Mom and Pops had an old red pick-up truck, a dream, and 4 loving sons willing to pitch in very day after School.
Many years later, our business grew and needed more space.  Mom & Pops were lucky enough to buy the old post office in Warren and we became Van Dyke Flea Market.
The Boys were in school studying precious metals, gemology, & watch repair.  The Boys realized with high prices Malls and Big Name Jewelers charge, not everyone could afford glamorous jewelry.  They decided to offer wholesale luxury jewelry to the public.  Golden Island Pawn was born and is still family owned & operated 30 years later.  Come visit us and I can assure you my family will treat your family as if they were our family.
